Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has been returned to the prison in Maafushi island, his lawyers have confirmed.
Attorney Hussain Shameem said that he was returned to Maafushi Prison after doctors advised that Maumoon not move too much due to his ailment.

Due to his ill health, Maumoon was moved from Maafushi to Dhoonidhoo island on Thursday after confiscating his medication.
