Police will not interfere or obstruct political activities: MPS
A statement from the police said that they will do everything necessary to ensure that September’s polls, and relevant activities, are carried out smoothly

The Maldives Police Service will not interfere or obstruct any political events being held in public spaces, so long as they abide by law, the police have said.

A statement from the police said that they will do everything necessary to ensure that September’s polls, and relevant activities, are carried out smoothly.

The police said that allegations that they have been obstructing and ceasing political events in the capital are untrue.

The statement also asks all parties involved to abide by the Housing Ministry’s regulations on the use of the Maldivian flag, and on hanging and drawing up banners in public spaces.
