Psychologist Dr. Aishath Ali Naaz has said that a vote in the presidential election would be worth more than a billion dollars.
In a tweet on Monday night, Dr. Naaz urged citizens not to sell their votes and instead vote for the good of the nation.

September’s election is considered a crucial one for Maldives as the only candidates vying for presidency are incumbent President Abdulla Yameen, whose administration has been embroiled in numerous controversies involving corruption and oppression of dissenting voices, and Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is the candidate for the opposition coalition parties.
Supporters of the government have deemed a vote for President Yameen as a vote for development while the opposition have been campaigning for reform.
