Polling booths and ballot boxes for the fast-approaching Presidential Election slated for the 23rd of September, have been sent to the outlying atolls.
While the Elections Commission had announced that a total of 491 ballot boxes will be placed throughout the nation in the September polls, 43 of them will be stationed in resorts, with some to be stationed overseas as well.
The commission revealed that ballot boxes and polling stations have been sent to outlying atolls on Sunday, adding that after finalizing the voter’s list, they will be sending ballots boxes and polling booths overseas, as well as the 43 resorts in which polling stations are to be placed.
A total of 262,141 eligible voters comprise this year’s Presidential Election.
