Opposition coalition’s Presidential hopeful Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to bring a difference to the electricity bills of small and medium enterprises in the outlying atolls.

Speaking after inaugurating the opposition’s campaign site in Laamu atoll Fonadhoo island on Wednesday, Solih said that a unity government led by him will bring adjustments in such a way that small and medium enterprises will not be burdened by their electricity bills.

“Small and medium enterprises in the outlying atolls are facing several complications since the hike in costs for electricity. Some enterprises cannot afford other payments after paying up for their electricity bills currently” said Solih.

The opposition candidate said that the opposition coalition’s purpose is to bring about an ambiance in which all citizens can work with liberty no matter what their political beliefs are. As such, highlighting that a unity government will highly prioritize in promoting local tourism, Solih said that the opposition will lessen the costs for domestic flights.

Moreover, Solih said that his visit to Thaa and Laamu atolls flared hope for a win in the upcoming Presidential election, going on to say that he will win the election with the full support of residents in both atolls. Solih assured that bringing justice desired by all citizens will follow his win.

Solih is scheduled to arrive back in the capital city Male’ after concluding his trip to Laamu and Thaa atolls on Thursday.
