Opposition presidential candidate, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed to Singapore on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, his spokesperson MP Mariya Didi said that while Solih is traveling to Singapore, that he will meet with the opposition campaign team in Malaysia as well.
She added that the purpose of the trip is to meet with the opposition campaign teams from Singapore and Malaysia, as well as to check on the progress of their work.
Solih has been campaigning across the Maldives since being selected as the opposition's candidate for September's polls, he returned from a three-day tour of Baa atoll on Monday.
Prior to that, he had traveled to southernmost Addu and Fuvamulah cities, following which he took a personal trip to the United Kingdom to attend his daughter's graduation.
While the opposition campaign team aims to travel to all inhabited islands of the country, Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem have split up to cover more ground at a faster pace- Naseem is currently in Alifu Dhaalu atoll.
