A dinghy carrying a team from Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has capsized in Laamu atoll while .

The defense force stated that the dinghy overturned while travelling between Gas Gandu Finolhu and Bodu Finolhu islands on Monday morning.

The defense force’s media officer, Ibrahim Azim, said that the dinghy overturned while carrying a foreign woman and nine Maldivian men.

The defense force took back an earlier statement that children were also onboard at the time.

No one was hurt in the incident, and the defense force, with the help of people nearby, rescued the MWSC workers and took them to an uninhabited in the atoll.
