A boat captain has drowned after capsizing while out at a surf point near Gaddhoo island of Gaafu Dhaal atoll on Friday.

Mohamed Hussain had carried four tourists to the surf point, from Vaadhoo island in the same atoll, who were surfing when the boat capsized.

Hussain, native to Vaadhoo island, was taken to the health center in Gaddhoo at around 10:45 am. He had already passed away by then.
