Changes brought to how registered people receive points for social housing
The policy under which points are allocated was also amended on the 10th of July
It was later amended on the 13th of July as well
Amendments were brought to the category that comes for those registered in the Male’ municipality registry

Changes have been brought to the way points are given to those in the Male’ municipalty registry applying for the state-issued one-room apartments.

Changes were also made to the policy on July 10 and 13.

The policy under which points are given:

  • 10 points if five years haven’t passed since being listed in the registry
  • 20 points if five years have passed but 10 years are yet to pass since registry
  • 30 points if 10 years have passed but 15 years are yet to pass since registry
  • 40 points if over 15 years have passed since being listed in the registry

Policy under which points are allocated for those having lived in the capital city Male’ for a continued period of time:

  • Nil if five years haven’t passed since the person/s have been residing in Male’
  • 10 points if five years have passed but 10 years are yet to pass since residing in Male’
  • 15 points if 10 years have passed but 15 years are yet to pass since residing in Male’
  • 40 points if it has been over 20 years residing in Male’

Points given to families with children have also been amended. As such, the new policy is as follow:

  • Five points if the couple does not have children
  • 10 points if the couple has one child
  • 15 points if the couple has two children
  • 20 points if the couple has three or more children
