Mohamed Sizaan, the Former HDh Neykurendhoo Council President, has signed into opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Sizaan was previously a member of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
He handed over his form to MDP Chairperson Hassan Latheef in a ceremony on Saturday.
Others at the ceremony include Vaikaradhoo MP Mohamed Nazim, MDP Vice Chairperson Ahmed Abdulla and other senior MDP members in the HDh atoll region.
Sizaan had won the council seat with the PPM ticket and had played an important role in the ruling party activities.
Some senior PPM members in the islands have recently been joining MDP.
