The construction project of a science laboratory and an audiovisual room in Haa Alif Thuraakunu School has been oficially handed over to Water Park Maldives.

The project that is estimated to cost half a million rufiyaa was handed to Water Park Maldives under the condition to complete the project within 42 days.

Senior Policy Executive at the Ministry of Education, Ibrahim Ismail signed on behalf of the ministry and Managing Director of Water Partk Maldives Ahmed Afraah signed on behalf of the company in a ceremony held at the ministry on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, the contruction of the science laboratory and the audiovisual room in Thuraakunu School will pave way for convenience, with conventional ways to do experiments and practical lessons.

The ministry added that the building will be ready for use by the beginning of the first term in 2019.

While MVR 1،550،499.33 is to be spent on this project, the company is required to complete in within the given period.

Thuraakunu School which accommodates 89 students conducts lessons from grades 1 - 10 and currently has nine classrooms, a staffroom and a row of lavatories.
