A fire incident has taken place inside the parliament building in the capital Malé City on Monday evening.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)'s media officer Ibrahim Azim, the fire incident was reported to them at around 6 pm on Monday.
Azim said that there was a minor fire incident in a restroom at the parliament Noting that the fire was doused shortly after receiving the report, Azim said that there were injuries.
MNDF is yet to reveal the cause of the fire.
Following the fire, electricity inside the building was cut off temporarily.
