A travel ban imposed on MP Faisal Naseem prevented him from accompanying his son abroad for urgent medical care.
RaajjeMV understands that the Kaashidhoo constituency MP’s passport has been seized since under a court order since March, a nation-wide state of emergency was in place at the time.
His passport was seized over allegations of ‘attempting to incite riots and violence against the government’, following his call for judicial independence and President Abdulla Yameen’s resignation.
In a tweet posted on Monday night, Naseem expressed his sadness in not being allowed to accompany his son for ‘urgent medical treatment’.
