The State Trading Organization (STO) hiked prices of diesel in the Maldives, given the spike of diesel costs in the global market.
The state-operated wholesaler lifted its price by 20 laari (MVR 0.20) – laari being the unit that the Maldivian Rufiyaa is subdivided into.
Given this change in price, a liter of diesel will now cost MVR 10.41 (about USD 0.68).
STO said that the price hike will take effect from Tuesday, 3rd April, onwards.
