STO announces discount rates of goods for Ramadan

State Trading Organization (STO) has announced the wholesale and retail prices of potatoes, onions and eggs for the month of Ramadan.

The discount rates were published on the company’s official twitter account on Saturday.

According to the tweet, the wholesale price for a bag of potatoes is MVR 220, while one kilogram is for MVR 10. Wholesale price for a bag of onion is MVR 170, and one kilogram is being sold for MVR 8, while the wholesale price of an egg case in MVR 270, and is being sold for MVR 1.50.

While the prices for the three items- eggs, potatoes and onions- normally inflate during Ramadan, STO has been selling the items at a discount rate every Ramadan. Price of a bag of onion has previously increased to MVR 500, while egg cases were sold at MVR 800.
