The event was held by BML from 10:00 to 14:00

Bank of Maldives (BML) has begun a special 'cleaning event' in the swimming track on Saturday.

The bank held the cleaning event with swimming association, Dive club Maldives and Dive desk, and was held from 10am to 2pm.

Also,  employees at the bank joined the event as divers.

BML revealed the reason behind their initiative to be for the wellbeing of the overall society as the swimming track is used by many, including children. They're initiative was to keep the area clean from undesired waste materials and a place that citizens can enjoy to the fullest.

BML has revealed the total amount of total debris collected at the event weighing over a hundred and eighty kilograms.

Total plastic items collected has been recorded weighing seventy kilograms.

The total debris collection data records two hundred and fifty cans, four hundred and ninety two plastic bottles, three hundred and ten plastic bags as well as general waste including glass and wood. 

In the month of February, BML began initiatives that will benefit the society under their "Aharenge Bank" program.
