Taxis have been banned from accepting more than one fare at a time.
The new policy was published on the government gazette on Tuesday.
Taxis were previously allowed to take a second fare, if the first customer approves. But now taxis can’t accept a second fare even if they receive permission from the first customer.
Numerous passengers have complained of taxis taking fares while they are inside the car, the main complaint being that they are late to their destination.
