MPL has tasked a Singaporean company with the construction of three residential towers in Hulhumale’.

The construction of the 14-storey buildings is under the government’s “Hiyaa” project.

While MPL has confirmed that the two parties signed the agreement on December 28, it did not disclose the name of the contractor or details of the deal.

According to MPL, construction is to begin in January next year.

The towers will feature three-room apartments and one-room studio apartments.
Authorities have estimated that a total of 36 towers would be built in Hulhumale’ as part of the government’s social housing project, which makes this the largest such project in Maldives.
Government-affiliated companies tasked with building some of the towers, are signing with contractors to complete the project.
