A tourist out snorkeling in Maafushi island of Kaafu Atoll on Monday has been found dead.

Police have confirmed the death and said the incident was reported to them at 11:15 am on Monday.

The 58-year-old woman, native to China, had reportedly suffered a seizure.

She had been accompanied by a member of her family and a snorkeling guide at the time of the reported seizure.
