The Maldives National Defence Force’s coast guard had sited four foreign vessels inside the Maldivian border.

Officers said that a local fishing vessel had sited said vessels and that the coast guard has dispatched units to investigate.

Officers had searched the vessel and cleared them.

Said vessels were sited near Kolamaafushi of Gaafu Alifu Atoll, which is 372 kilometers from capital city Malé.

Upon siting, the fishing vessel had asked the vessels to seize until the coast guard arrived.
