Allegations have surfaced involving the Fenaka Corporation Limited branch in Sh. Feevah, where a child with disabilities was reportedly coerced into performing strenuous manual labor.
The child's grandmother shared these details during an interview on RaajjeTV’s "Haalu Kihineh?" program. According to the grandmother, the child was forced to perform strenuous physical labor during the month of Ramadan.
Shortly after the change in government, that child joined the service. During that year's Ramadan, I swear by Allah, the child lost ten days of fasting. Ten days. He was constantly vomiting and retching. When I asked him what was wrong, he told me he was being forced to work in the scorching sun, pulling weeds from between the stones and cleaning toilets. The child's grandmother stated that after sharing details of the child's medical condition and relevant documentation with former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, she requested assistance in securing employment. She noted that a position was subsequently arranged at the Fenaka branch in Sh. Feevah. However, she added that by the time the employment arrangements were finalized, the administration had already changed.
The child's father is right here, as you can see, unable to speak and in a debilitated state. Meanwhile, the mother is currently admitted at the Home for People with Special Needs in K. Guraidhoo. This child is also very unwell. I have the documents provided by NSPA regarding the child's condition and education. I personally stayed in Male' with the child for a month, but eventually, I had to explain that I could no longer stay there.
