MACL: Staff bonuses are not mandatory; no decision yet on payouts for this year

While bonuses are typically issued following the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the payment date remains unconfirmed as a schedule for this year's meeting has not been finalized. Since 2022, the company has consistently provided a bonus of MVR 25,000 to each employee.

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has stated that the bonuses issued to its employees are not a mandatory entitlement.
MACL made these remarks when contacted by RaajjeTV during its "Fashaairu" program. When inquired whether the company had issued bonuses to its employees this year, MACL responded that the bonuses have not yet been distributed.
When questioned about the timeline for bonus disbursements, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) stated that bonuses are not a mandatory entitlement and that no decision has been made to issue them this year. The company noted that bonuses are typically distributed following a resolution at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), adding that a date for this year's AGM has yet to be finalized.
Furthermore, MACL stated that although the practice of issuing bonuses was introduced relatively recently, they have consistently awarded them every year since its inception.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has been awarding an annual bonus of MVR 25,000 to each of its employees. Since 2022, the state-owned enterprise has consistently disbursed these bonus payments during the month of September.
