Expressing concern over reports of Zionists attempting to establish a presence in the Maldives through foreign corporations, he emphasized that such developments could inflict irreparable damage on the nation’s identity and its vital tourism industry.

Ali Hussain, a prominent lawyer and former Member of Parliament for the Kendhoo constituency, has stated that leasing Maldivian land to foreign entities for extended periods and allowing foreign nationals to establish residency would jeopardize the nation's peace and stability.
Speaking during RaajjeTV’s "Maldivian Land for Maldivians" coverage on Thursday night, Ali Hussain stated that Article 251(b) of the Constitution explicitly stipulates that no part of the Maldives may be leased or otherwise granted to a foreign party for a period exceeding 99 years. He further emphasized that this provision does not allow for indefinite extensions, noting that it was never intended to permit the renewal of a 99-year lease for an additional 99 years upon its expiration.
Citing Eagle Hills as an example, Ali Hussain stated that even if the company is granted land for 99 years, an individual purchasing a flat or building in the 98th year cannot be granted a fresh 99-year lease. He explained that because the rights are derived from the original agreement, no additional entitlements can be created beyond the scope of that initial contract.
Furthermore, he stated that since Zionists are unable to enter as tourists, they are attempting to enter as residents or settlers through a company based in the UAE. He added that their arrival in the country poses a significant threat.
Since Zionists can no longer enter as tourists, they are operating behind the scenes, orchestrating a plan to enter as residents through a UAE-based company. They will then claim to be the rightful inhabitants and settlers of the Maldives, asserting that they have come to reclaim what is theirs. We must understand the consequences of their arrival; it is a terrifying prospect. Preventing this is the only way to ensure our safety. As previously noted, peace and stability are defining characteristics of the Maldivian national identity. Our unity as a nation that follows a single religion is the foundation of this harmony and tranquility. These are the unique attributes of the Maldives, and they are among the primary reasons our country’s beauty remains so attractive to the rest of the world.Ali Hussain
Ali Hussain highlighted that the greatest beauty of the Maldives' national identity and tourism lies in its safety, tranquility, and religious homogeneity. However, he warned that if foreign nationals settle here and establish themselves as residents, the subsequent construction of churches and temples for their worship would shatter the country's stability and severely impact the tourism industry. Furthermore, Ali Hussain asserted that this is a project that should not be pursued under any circumstances.
