Former Minister of Home Affairs and former President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla, has stated that Maldivian interests must not be surrendered to Zionists, whether under the guise of development or commerce.
Sheikh Imran made these remarks in a post on X on Wednesday.
Sheikh Imran stated that the Maldives will progress on its developmental path while remaining steadfast in the principles of Islam and preserving its Maldivian identity. He further emphasized that no government, acting on behalf of the Maldivian people, has the right to relinquish the nation's sovereignty or control to Zionist interests.
Furthermore, Sheikh Imran stated that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, there will always be Maldivian patriots ready to expose and thwart any such plots.
Sheikh Imran made these remarks following the government's decision to award the development of Ras Male' to UAE-based Eagle Hills. The project aims to transform the site into an integrated island destination under the "Maldives Waterfront and Marina" initiative.
Amidst these growing concerns, Sheikh Imran on Tuesday called on the government to disclose full details regarding the Ras Male' transaction to the Maldivian public.
Sheikh Imran stated that the sudden reversal of information provided by the company involved in the Ras Male' project within a single day reveals hidden and dangerous complexities surrounding the deal. He emphasized that this transaction directly impacts the rights of future Maldivian generations. Furthermore, he asserted that the project must not proceed until full and transparent information regarding the agreement is disclosed to the public.
