Maldivians granted 30-day visa-free entry to Belarus

This agreement is expected to significantly ease travel and further strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.

The Maldives and Belarus have signed a significant mutual visa waiver agreement to facilitate easier travel between the two nations.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, currently underway in New York.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Maldivian government by Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam. Representing the Government of Belarus was Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov.
Following the signing ceremony, Minister Iruthisham expressed her gratitude during official talks for the importance the Government of Belarus accords to strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations. The Minister further noted her optimism that the agreement would pave the way for enhanced collaboration across various sectors and foster closer people-to-people connections between the two countries.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that under this agreement, citizens of both countries will benefit from eased travel requirements, allowing them to travel between the two nations without the need for a visa.
According to the Ministry, citizens of both countries will be permitted to travel under a single-entry visa valid for 30 days, or via multiple entries, provided the total duration of stay does not exceed 90 days within a calendar year.
