New Foreign Minister’s first official visit also to India!
Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam has departed for India on her first official overseas visit since assuming office. During this visit, undertaken at the invitation of India's External Affairs Minister, high-level discussions are scheduled to take place aimed at further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between the two nations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam has departed for India on an official visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit is being undertaken at the official invitation of India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
Despite the heavy criticism directed at India during the current administration's rise to power, efforts are now underway to strengthen bilateral ties following their assumption of office. In line with this shift, the new Foreign Minister’s current visit to India marks her first official overseas trip since taking charge of the ministry.
During her current visit to New Delhi, Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam is scheduled to meet with India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The meeting will focus on further strengthening the long-standing close ties of friendship between the two nations, as well as exploring avenues to enhance cooperation between the Maldives and India across various sectors.
Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam will be accompanied on this trip by Dr. Ibrahim Zuhuree, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Assistant Director Aminath Guraisha.
