Dharavandhoo Airport, noting that physical work has yet to commence months after the foundation stone was laid. He criticized the government, stating that while senior officials initiated the project just ahead of the elections, its current status remains unknown, which he characterized as a deceptive act toward the public.

Concerns have been raised over the lack of progress on the construction of a new terminal at B. Dharavandhoo Airport, with reports indicating that the project remains stalled months after the foundation stone was laid.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Ayathullah, the MDP National Congress President for the B. Hithaadhoo constituency, noted that Dharavandhoo Airport remains the sole aviation gateway in Baa Atoll. He highlighted that the foundation stone for the airport's new terminal was recently laid in a ceremony attended by Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen, senior officials from Island Aviation, and other high-ranking government representatives.

However, he noted that despite six to eight months having passed since the foundation stone was laid, there has been no visible progress or physical work at the site.
The only airport currently operating with a profit for Island Aviation is located in B. Dharavandhoo. Both the Managing Director of Island Aviation and the Transport Minister were heavily invested in this project. I recall that Minister Ameen, along with several other government officials, laid the foundation stone for a new terminal during the council election period, promising its construction. Now, it seems they have no recollection that the foundation stone was ever laid; even Minister Ameen appears unaware of it. This is the level at which they are operating. It is unacceptable to deceive the public to such an extent.Ayathullah
Ayathullah stated that although the public is in desperate need of the terminal, the project has now reached a point where its current status remains entirely unknown.
Furthermore, he stated that development projects across all islands in Baa Atoll have slowed to a snail's pace under President Muizzu’s administration, adding that there is currently no hope for these initiatives to progress.
