President Solih noted that development projects for the island will be included in the budget for next year after discussions are held with key stakeholders

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been briefed with the challenges and issues facing the community of Dharavandhoo island in Baa atoll.

This was done during a meeting the council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Dharavandhoo held with the president, on Thursday.

The meeting saw the members of the island’s WDC and council extending gratitude to the incumbent administration for carrying out development projects regardless of the size of the island and its community.

The president was briefed on the most pressing issues facing Dharavandhoo island including the need for a revetment to protect the area between the island’s harbor and the airport as well as addressing space constraints in the school and improving the services at the health center.

Further, the councilors shed light on the need for a new mosque, the need for a youth center as well as housing for the island's residents.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured the council and WDC that the incumbent administration will find ways to address the concerns and hold meetings with the relevant authorities to seek solutions.

President Solih noted that development projects for the island will be included in the budget for next year after discussions are held with key stakeholders.
