High Court Judge Mahir retires after more than 20 years of service in judiciary

Mahir, who previously served as the Chief Judge of the Family Court, had formally requested to step down from the bench this past August.

The Honorable Justice Ibrahim Mahir has retired with honor from his position as a judge of the High Court of the Maldives.
The High Court officially announced on Sunday the retirement of Judge Mahir.
Judge Ibrahim Mahir submitted his request for retirement to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) last August. Following the completion of all necessary legal and administrative procedures, he has now officially stepped down from his position.
Following Judge Mahir's retirement, the High Court has expressed its gratitude for his invaluable contributions and dedicated service to both the judiciary and the High Court.
Judge Ibrahim Mahir is a veteran of the judiciary with over 20 years of service. He was appointed to the High Court bench on September 25, 2025. Prior to his appointment to the High Court, Mahir served as the Chief Judge of the Family Court.
