10 candidates apply for position of Chief Judicial Administrator

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced that 10 candidates applied for the position of Chief Judicial Administrator by the application deadline. As the highest administrative authority within the court system, the role carries a monthly salary and allowance package of MVR 59,235. The appointee will be entrusted with significant responsibilities, including overseeing the administrative operations of the courts and determining the allocation of judges.

10 individuals have applied for the position of Chief Judicial Administrator, the highest administrative office in the Maldivian judiciary, following the recruitment opening by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

The deadline for applications for this position was 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

By the application deadline, the individuals who had applied for the position are: Hoodh Mohamed (Valuge, GDh. Madaveli), Ahmed Rifath (Seefiyage, R. Maduvvari), Adam Shameem (Malaaz, Dh. Maaenboodhoo), Aminath Nashmee Fadheel (M. Zeyvaru, Male'), Aishath Hikma (Asrafeevilla, S. Hithadhoo), Ismail Sajid (Ma. Villarodi, Male'), Mohamed Niyaz (Nitrose, M. Rathmandhoo), Mariyam Shahana (M. Medhuriya, Male'), Mariyam Nihayath (M. Thaaj, Male'), and Shafeeqa Naeem (Beachside, F. Nilandhoo).

The basic salary for this position is MVR 30,000. Additionally, the successful candidate will receive an executive allowance of MVR 27,235 and a phone allowance of MVR 2,000.

The Chief Judicial Administrator serves as the head of administration for all courts operating under the judicial branch of the state.

The responsibilities of this position include establishing the administrative framework of the courts, as well as overseeing disciplinary actions and dismissals. Furthermore, the individual holding this post is vested with the authority to appoint and remove court registrars.

Furthermore, the responsibilities of this position include determining the number of judges for Maldivian courts, in consultation with the Judicial Service Commission. This role plays a vital part in the administration of the country's judicial system.

The Chief Judicial Administrator is the highest-ranking official responsible for overseeing and improving the administrative operations of the courts. The individual in this position is tasked with resolving administrative challenges within the judiciary and ensuring that court services are delivered effectively to the public.
