Civil Court Judge Abdulla Ihusan has been suspended in connection with an ongoing investigation into a conduct-related matter.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announced in a statement on Wednesday that it has placed Ihusan under temporary suspension. The Commission stated that the decision was made in light of the nature of the ongoing investigation and the information gathered thus far, pending a final resolution on the matter.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced that he has been suspended from his duties for a period of 60 days, effective from August 19, 2024.
The statement noted that the decision to suspend him was finalized during the Commission's meeting (No. 2026/026) held on August 19, 2026.
Ihusan's suspension comes at a time when a complaint has been lodged with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) regarding an order he issued late at night, bypassing standard procedures. The order in question was issued against Lagoon Sports Club. In response, Lagoon Sports Club expressed its dissatisfaction by submitting a formal letter to the JSC, alleging that the order was issued without seeking information or clarification from any of the involved parties.
