The former President of the MDP, Abdulla Shahid, and his campaign team have been accorded a warm welcome upon their arrival in Kulhudhuffushi City.
After announcing his candidacy for the MDP presidential primary, Abdulla Shahid resigned from his position as the party's president and officially launched his campaign activities. As part of these efforts, Shahid and his campaign team traveled to Kulhudhuffushi City on Friday night.
Accompanying Shahid on the visit were the MDP Parliamentary Group Leader and MP for Hithadhoo South, Ibrahim Nazil, Maradhoo MP Ahmed Didi, and the former MP for Baarah, Ahmed Abdulla.
Kulhudhuffushi City Mayor Mohamed Athif, along with a large number of residents, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Following the reception, a motorcycle rally was also held in the city.

During this visit, door-to-door activities will be conducted across various areas of Kulhudhuffushi City, with a public rally also scheduled for Saturday night.
As part of his campaign for the MDP presidential primary, Shahid has appealed for the support and votes of all general members of the party. He further stated that he would be a leader for every member of the party. He assured supporters that he is someone who can and will work inclusively with all perspectives, while guaranteeing that he will deliver on his commitments.
Furthermore, Shahid stated that he would prioritize and protect the national interest, ensuring a simple and transparent administration that provides fair and equal opportunities for all Maldivian citizens.
