The circulating video shows him dancing with a woman inside a nightclub. Allegations have also surfaced suggesting that he was under the influence of intoxicants at the time.

RaajjeMV’s attempts to reach Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam for comment were unsuccessful, as she did not answer the phone. There was also no response to messages sent to her.
When questioned regarding the video, government spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef stated that as soon as the issue surfaced, the President's Office instructed the Ministry to dismiss the official from their post. He noted that the Ministry, in coordination with the Embassy, immediately initiated the process. Shareef confirmed to RaajjeMV that the official has now been "recalled" as part of the termination process.
In diplomatic terminology, a "recall" refers to the official summoning of a diplomat back to their home country from the nation where they are currently serving.
Shareef stated that once the recall process is finalized—including the revocation of his credentials and the seizure of his diplomatic passport—he will be formally dismissed from his position.
He also served at the Maldivian Embassy in Sri Lanka during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
