President Muizzu announces efforts to establish a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory

Technical work has already commenced on the project, which will encompass fields such as civil, mechanical, and robotics engineering, with the facility's construction set to be funded through sources outside the state budget.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that efforts are underway to establish a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory in the Maldives.
President Muizzu made these remarks in a video message released to mark National Engineers' Day. He stated that the state-of-the-art engineering laboratory currently being developed in the Maldives is designed to provide comprehensive services across all engineering disciplines under one roof.
President Muizzu stated that the laboratory will be fully equipped to cater to all fields of engineering, including civil, mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, aircraft, and aeronautical engineering, as well as robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital engineering.
President Muizzu stated that technical work and other necessary arrangements for the construction of this building are currently underway. He further noted that the facility will be designed as a centralized hub, providing comprehensive services across all engineering sectors in one location.
Furthermore, President Muizzu stated that the operation of this building is scheduled to be managed outside of the state budget.
