New deadline set for December to release land plot and flat allocation lists!

The Ministry of Housing has announced that efforts are underway at a rapid pace to finalize and release the lists of land and flat recipients under the previous administration's "Binveriya" and "Gedhoruveriya" housing schemes by the end of December this year.

State Minister for Housing, Ahmed Nazim Mohamed, disclosed this information while speaking on state media.

Elaborating further on the initiative, Nazim stated that public cooperation is essential to ensure the lists can be released by December. He noted that it would significantly expedite the process if all applicants verify and cross-check their information through the housing portal in advance.

Despite the government previously setting multiple deadlines regarding the allocation of land plots and flats, work has not been completed within those timeframes, leading to significant public outcry. Concerns have mounted particularly over the continued delays in releasing the permanent list of flat recipients, prompting many to take to the streets in protest.

The Ministry has announced that the verification process is currently underway for applications submitted for land plots and flats in the Greater Male' Area under the government's "Housing for All" policy.

The Ministry of Housing stated on Saturday that the verification process for applications will involve cross-referencing submitted information with data provided to the Ministry by government agencies and local councils.

In this regard, it has been stated that if any discrepancies are found in the information provided in the application form, the applicant will be notified through the "Hiyaavehi" portal.

Furthermore, the Ministry stated that if any information provided in the notice via the portal is inaccurate, applicants will be granted a seven-day period to submit clarifying details and supporting documentation. The Ministry also confirmed that updates regarding application status will be sent via SMS to the mobile number provided by the applicant during the initial registration process.

The Ministry further stated that if a response to the identified issues is not submitted within the specified deadline, the application will be deemed ineligible or considered incomplete.

The Ministry of Housing has stated that responses must be submitted exclusively through the Hiyaavehi Portal. During this stage, submissions made via email, formal letters, or any other means will not be accepted.
