The President's Office has stated that no food items for the President's official residence, Muleiaage, are imported from Singapore, clarifying that all provisions are sourced from the local Maldivian market.
The President's Office made this clarification in response to a Right to Information (RTI) request submitted by RaajjeTV on November 12, 2025. The inquiry sought to verify whether bread or any other bakery products are imported from Singapore for the official presidential residence, Mulee'aage.
Although the President's Office extended the deadline for providing information regarding this inquiry by 14 days, they failed to provide a response within that timeframe. Consequently, the matter was submitted to the Information Commissioner's Office on January 24, 2026.

Subsequently, in a response issued on January 26, 2026, the President's Office clarified that no food items are imported from Singapore for Mulee'aage. It further stated that all food supplies for the official residence are sourced directly from the local Maldivian market.
Regarding the delay in responding, the Information Commissioner stated that although the President's Office failed to provide a response within the statutory period, the case has been concluded as the information eventually provided met the requirements of the request.
