A taxi travelling along Boduthakurufaanu magu, caught on fire on Friday evening.

Media official for Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Ibrahim Azim reported that the case was filed at around 8.34 pm on Friday and that teams from the force had attended to the issue immediately.

Azim said that the driver and two passengers were in the car at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

No reason had been given for the fire. The car had sustained several damages.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) had begun investigating the case.
