President's Office admits government's economic reform agenda has remained stalled since beginning of 2024!
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICOM) has questioned the President’s Office regarding a Right to Information (RTI) request filed by RaajjeTV seeking details on the government’s economic reform agenda. During the hearing, the Information Commissioner noted that the links provided by the President’s Office failed to show any progress on the agenda after October 2024. Consequently, ICOM has requested clarification on whether the reform efforts have stalled since that date.

The President's Office has provided statements to the Information Commissioner’s Office suggesting that the government's economic reform agenda has remained stalled since 2024.
The President's Office made these remarks during a hearing held on Sunday by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICOM), regarding a case filed by RaajjeTV concerning the government's economic reform agenda.
During the hearing, Information Commissioner Aahid Rasheed stated that the two links provided by the President's Office contained information regarding the President's decisions to achieve the objectives of the reform agenda on September 2, 2024. He further noted that a subsequent news update on October 23 detailed additional decisions made by the President under the economic reform agenda.
However, Rasheed questioned whether these efforts should be viewed solely as part of the economic reform agenda and whether any further progress has been made under that agenda since then.
If those two links represent the entirety of the progress made on the economic reform agenda, then it could be considered that the information has been disclosed. However, at this point, I also have several questions.President of the Information Commissioners Office (ICOM), Aahid Rasheed
Rasheed stated that the President's Office subsequently shared a link to the cabinet directory; however, accessing that link failed to provide any clear information regarding the specific queries raised.
However, during the hearing, the President's Office maintained that they believe the requested question has already been addressed.
However, Rasheed stated that the requested answer had not been received. He questioned whether the President's Office's response implied that all efforts regarding the economic reform agenda had come to a standstill after 2024.
Rasheed stated that it is difficult to accept the situation as it stands. Consequently, he requested further clarification on the matter.
