Muaz Haleem, the Secretary General of the People's National Congress (PNC), has resigned from his position.
In a post shared on X announcing the decision, he stated that his resignation aims to support the efforts initiated by the party’s President and the President of the Republic. These efforts are directed toward strengthening party administration, aligning its activities with the public pulse, and transforming the party into a more results-oriented organization.
Furthermore, he stated in his post that he believes it is essential for the position of the party's Secretary General to be held by someone who can dedicate more time to the role than he currently can.
Consequently, he has resigned from the position of the party's Secretary General, effective April 18.
These developments coincide with a period of significant internal restructuring within the government. Major changes are currently being implemented across the cabinet and state-owned enterprises (SOEs), following the administration's recent electoral setbacks.
