It has been decided to offer Shaheed Ibrahim, the former Deputy Managing Director of Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), a position equivalent to the role he previously held.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board announced on Sunday that Shaheed Ibrahim, from Dhevvadhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Maldives Post Limited.
According to a reliable source with knowledge of the matter, he is slated to be appointed as the company’s Deputy Managing Director at the Post Limited Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Monday.
Shaheed was appointed DMD at WAMCO in April 2024 but was removed from the position just eight months later.
Before entering politics, he had a long career in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
Shaheed, who also served as a Council Member of the PNC Senate, played a key role in the rise of the current government.
Although he has now been offered another senior position roughly a year after his abrupt removal from WAMCO, the reasons for his dismissal from the DMD post at WAMCO have not been publicly disclosed.
