Deputy Minister of Education Shujau speaking at an event Political

Deputy Minister of Education Mohamed Shujau has been suspended following allegations that members of his family met with former President Abdulla Yameen. According to available information, the suspension was issued last Wednesday.

The individuals who reportedly met with Yameen were Shujau’s older brother and another family member. Shujau was notified of his suspension by the President’s Office, while Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafiu has told some media outlets that the reason for the suspension remains unknown.

Shujau has been suspended with pay. Others have also faced suspension for meeting with Yameen.
