Mohamed Hussain, commonly known as Valey, the Vice President of the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Kudahuvadhoo constituency, passed away suddenly on Tuesday night. He was 40 years old.
According to Kudahuvadhoo Council Member Abdulla Jameel, Hussain had spent a joyful day with his family and had shown no signs of illness. He was later found collapsed in his room on Tuesday night and was taken to the hospital around 11pm.
Medical staff at the hospital confirmed that Hussain had already passed away, upon arrival.
Jameel described Hussain as a well-mannered and kind individual who was deeply dedicated to his community. In addition to his active involvement in MDP affairs, he was known for his contributions to social causes and his collaborative spirit.
His sudden passing has been described as a profound loss to the community. Prayers have been requested for the late community leader.
Hussain was laid to rest at M. Aasaharaa cemetery following the Fajr prayer on Wednesday morning.
