Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the establishment of Self-Service Banking ATM services in Rakeedhoo island of Vaavu atoll marking the successful completion of ATM network coverage across all inhabited islands in Vaavu atoll.
The new ATM was officially inaugurated during a ceremony attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Cabinet Ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior bank officials.

Speaking at the event, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef highlighted the significance of the milestone.
Under the ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ project, we have now covered all inhabited islands in 12 atolls across the country. For each island and its community, each ATM installation represents a significant advancement in promoting financial inclusion and facilitating convenient access to banking services.”

As part of the expansion under the same initiative, ATMs were also installed in Feeali and Bilehdhoo islands in Faafu atoll further extending BML’s reach across the country.
BML continues to lead the financial sector in the Maldives, maintaining a robust and inclusive presence with 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 166 Self-Service Banking Centers, 225 ATMs, a widespread Agent Banking network, and a full suite of Digital Banking solutions.
The “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” project remains a key component of the bank’s commitment to nationwide service accessibility, supporting both urban and remote communities with reliable banking infrastructure.
