Bank of Maldives (BML) has successfully concluded an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) program aimed at encouraging young female students to explore careers in the technology sector.
The program was conducted for students at Gaaf Alif Atoll Education Center in Villingili and Gaaf Dhaal Atoll Education Center in Thinadhoo, specifically targeting female students in grades six and seven.
Led by a team of female professionals from the country’s national bank’s Technology Division, the sessions focused on introducing students to the ICT field, sharing insights into career opportunities, and offering mentorship and guidance for those interested in pursuing technology-related paths.

This marks the third consecutive year BML has conducted the program in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day. In previous years, similar sessions were held in Mahibadhoo island of Alif Alif atoll, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City.
According to BML, the program reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to empowering young girls across the Maldives by raising awareness and interest in the growing field of information and communication technology.
