BML unveils new branch and USD ATM in Ukulhas

Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially opened a new branch in Ukulhas island of Alif Alif atoll, reaffirming its commitment to expanding accessible banking services and promoting financial inclusion across the Maldives. Alongside the branch, the country’s national bank also introduced a new USD ATM, offering enhanced convenience for both residents and businesses.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, key government ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, Board Directors, and senior Bank officials.

Recognized as a vibrant hub for guest house tourism, Ukulhas plays a significant economic role in Alif Alif atoll. The new branch will serve the financial needs of individuals and businesses, particularly those in the tourism sector, through the bank’s dedicated “Islamic Finance First” service offering.

Speaking regarding the unveiling, the bank’s CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef revealed that the new branch and new USD ATM service will pave the path for residents and entrepreneurs in Ukulhas as well as nearby islands to access tailored financial solutions that will support local development and contribute to economic growth.
