Abdul Ghani appointed as Chief Justice
Abdul Ghani Mohamed was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Maldives by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Abdul Ghani Mohamed as the Chief Justice of the Maldives.
Abdul Ghani Mohamed was appointed as the Chief Justice during a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Wednesday morning.
At the ceremony, the oath of office was administered to Abdul Ghani by Honorable Justice Abdulla Hameed of the Supreme Court. After taking the oath as Chief Justice, Abdul Ghani signed the oath declaration.
Prior to assuming the position, Abdul Ghani was serving as the President of the Tax Appeal Tribunal.
In addition to this, he was also a Senior Lecturer at the Islamic University of Maldives and was teaching at Villa College and Zikra College. He has also previously served as a Justice of the Supreme Court, Chief Judge of the High Court, Judge of the Civil Court, and as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
