Bank of Maldives

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of its 2025 Bank Fund, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering NGOs and supporting sustainable development projects across the Maldives.

The country’s national bank revealed that the recipients of this year’s Bank Fund include the Diabetes Society of Maldives, for the establishment of a clinic in Hulhumalé to enhance community-based healthcare services focused on diabetes prevention, early detection, and management.

Further, the United Islamic Society has been selected to receive funding for the establishment of a state-of-the-art multimedia studio at Dhaal Atoll Education Centre. The project aims to strengthen students’ digital media skills while supporting the continuity and professional growth of the school’s acclaimed Media Club.

The Foundation for Eydhafushi Youth Linkage (FEYLI) will receive funding to establish two integrated laboratories at Baa Atoll Education Centre, designed to provide comprehensive training in vocational and creative skills.

The Maldivian Nurses Association has been awarded funding to establish sustainable, community-based mental health support services in Hulhumalé Phase II. The initiative will offer accessible outreach and rehabilitative programs for individuals living with severe mental health conditions.

Tiny Hearts of Maldives will receive funding to develop a national digital resource hub dedicated to heart health and overall physical well-being.

The Bank Fund is an annual initiative that awards MVR 200,000 in funding to five selected projects each year. Through this program, BML reaffirms its commitment to empowering local communities and contributing to a more sustainable and prosperous future for the Maldives.
