The Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have held consultations regarding the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the Maldives.
On Wednesday, the police institution revealed that Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen and Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy met at the main military headquarters.
The police institution went on to highlight that the meeting was held as an introductory meeting for the newly appointed Commissioner of Police to meet the Chief of Defence Force.

During the meeting, both parties extensively discussed the ongoing work to maintain peace and security in the island nation. They specifically discussed the importance of further strengthening and sustainably continuing the collaborative efforts between the police and military in serving the public.
In addition to this, the police institution noted that discussions were held on further collaborative efforts to maintain the nation's interests and peace in the most comprehensive manner, and to ensure the safety of the citizens while remaining committed to doing all possible work in this direction.
