Main ruling People’s National Congress (PNC)’s Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah has instructed members of the ruling party’s parliamentary group to express their support for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on social media.

According to reliable sources, Falah has given said instruction to the party’s lawmakers in connection with Tuesday's vote.

Falah has stated that he wishes for all members who were unable to participate in Tuesday's vote due to various reasons to disclose their reasons through social media platform ‘X’.

Further, Falah has also requested to clarify that the lawmakers stand with the president, government, and PNC, and will not engage in any actions of rebellion against the government.

Some PNC lawmakers did not participate in the vote held in parliament on Tuesday, going against the party's whip line.

According to reliable information, some PNC lawmakers were present at the parliament but did not participate in the vote.

Tuesday's parliament sitting included a no-confidence vote against Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and a vote to accept the bill proposing amendments to the Courts Act to remove two justices from the Supreme Court bench.

PNC had issued a three-line whip for both these issues.

Regarding the violation of the whip line, President Muizzu has expressed his dissatisfaction and stated that all lawmakers must comply with the three-line whip.

The president reportedly became infuriated when media leaked information about his influence on the votes of lawmakers. Further, he is to have stated that leaking that information was a serious mistake and that he made those remarks in his capacity as the party president.

There has been significant disagreement among lawmakers of PNC's parliamentary group regarding the bill suddenly submitted to the parliament to reduce the number of Supreme Court justices.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, a credible source revealed that some lawmakers have expressed dissatisfaction with changes to the court bench while a constitutional case was ongoing. It is noted that some lawmakers are continuing to post on Facebook and X as instructed by Falah.
