The team from Gan island of Laamu atoll has won the Charity Shield match of the Golden Futsal Challenge by defeating the most recent champion team from Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll.

Last year's Golden Futsal Challenge final was also between Eydhafushi and Gan. Eydhafushi won last year's tournament by defeating Gan in the final. Gan also won last year's Golden's Charity Shield match.

In the Charity Shield match played on Saturday night at the Hulhumalé Rehendhi Futsal Ground, Gan won 1 – 0. Both teams displayed competitive play in the match. Both teams had opportunities to score goals in the match. Gan scored their goal in the second half of the match. Abdulla Junaid scored the goal for Gan. It was a goal scored by Junaid from a pass given by Ahmed Haleem of their team.

The Gan team that won the Charity Shield was awarded a cash prize of MVR 25,000. The money raised from the Charity Shield match has been donated to the beloved people of Palestine.
